Is Mat Kearney the next John Mayer? That’s what some reviewers are saying. But Mat has his own way to rock. On his Aware/Columbia debut Nothing Left to Lose, the Oregon-raised singer/songwriter deftly blends Mayer-like subtle pop and vocals that recall Coldplay’s Chris Martin with hip-hop beats, acoustic folk, and spoken verses. Slickly produced, the disc includes stand-out pop gems like the title track, the guitar-friendly pop of “Can’t Break Her Fall”, and the U2-influenced “Crashing Down”. Thanks to its mainstream appeal, Nothing Left to Lose has been earning Mat appearances on shows like CBS Saturday Morning.

Mat Kearney’s previous album, the independently released Bullet (2004), was a breakthrough success, and several songs from that disc have been re-recorded for Nothing Left to Lose. Don’t miss this exciting new talent as he takes his heartfelt, genuine acoustic-folk pop on tour.
