Alkaline Trio's fifth studio album Crimson takes up where the Chicago act's last album, Good Mourning, left off. Once again, Matt Skiba and company find the perfect balance of darkness and melody in songs that are triumphant, aggressive, angry and life-affirming.
Alkaline Trio formed in 1997. Here to Infirmary, their third album and first for Vagrant, took the band into the Top 200. Good Mourning, the 2003 follow-up, did even better, cracking the Top 40 and earning the Chicago band raves from Rolling Stone, Spin, Entertainment Weekly and a cover story in Alternative Press. Alkaline Trio have been selling out clubs ever since, and Crimson shows no sign this is going to stop any time soon. The group's most mature and ambitious album yet, the disc features more of the band's incredible song writing and muscular, melodic sound on songs like "Mercy Me", "Smoke" and first single "Time to Waste".
