Event Description

‘Everything Fitz’ in Concert

Advance $20; Door $25
Tickets Available At: Long & McQuade, Ivy’s Bookshop and online at www.go-artist.ca

Everything Fitz presents an eclectic program, which blends traditional jigs and reels, bluegrass, jazz standards, Celtic and show-stopping Ottawa-Valley step dancing. Everything Fitz is an energetic, virtuosic, tradition-celebrating outfit, not to mention, one that’s not soon forgotten when seen fiddling and step dancing - at the same time!

This unique act features high-energy fiddling and mind-blowing percussive step dancing of four of Canada’s finest musicians. Featuring 3-time Canadian Grand Master Fiddle Champions and Ontario Open Step Dance Champions - Tom, Kerry and Julie Fitzgerald. Joining the siblings on guitar, lead vocals, and onstage antics is Nate Douglas (guitarist for Cape Breton’s Natalie MacMaster in 2013) along with Pam on piano.

It is the rare combination of exceptional musicianship, incomparable step dancing, audience interaction, evident love of performing, and genuine sibling connection that resonates with audiences of all ages and sets this group apart.

”The Fitzgerald Family are standout musicians in our Canadian music industry, but more importantly in the long-standing Ontario fiddle and [step] dance traditions. The calibre of musicianship is very high - the best according to many experts in the fiddle/dance competition world. I think together they are a beautiful blend of gorgeous fiddle music, and top rate, absolutely exhilarating dance routines.”
~ Natalie MacMaster

“No group has generated as much curiosity, compelling our audience to return for a second set, as the Ottawa Valley style dancing that Julie Fitzgerald so excels at. The warmth, energy, and enthusiasm has hooked generations from young to senior, then the talent lets loose - pure vibrant magic.”
~ John O’Brien, Director of Cleveland Irish Cultural Festival

“The precision and intricacy of their footwork was breathtaking and the complex choreography left many in the audience shaking their heads in amazement.”
