Event Description

Join us for an exciting afternoon of early Sephardic Love Songs, English Elizabethan Ayres and Music from the Levant.

Elspeth McVeigh, has a special interest in early and baroque music of Europe and interpretations of traditional/ anonymous compositions of the period.

Farooq Al - Sajee is a young classical musician who plays the Oud. He recently immigrated from Syria where he studied Oriental Music and English Literature.

Mark Sullivan is a 3-time Canadian Grand Masters Fiddle Champion is widely regarded as one of North America’s finest fiddlers.

Elspeth, Mark and Farooq, all from quite different musical backgrounds, will be fusing and celebrating the influence of Levantine and Sephardic music on early tradtional songs and Elizabethan ayres.
