Event Description

The general public are warmly welcomed to a St Patricks Day Celebration at the UWC at Hycroft, 1849 McRae Ave , Vancouver on Sunday March 20, 2.00pm to 3.00pm

“The Star of the County Down” programme includes heartwarming, heartrending songs and ballads and and foot stompin jigs and reels, that have been loved by generation after generation of music lovers.

Three exceptional musicians of traditional music are giving the programme:
Elspeth McVeigh, who sings with “sensitivity and perfect clarity of sound”. Mark Sullivan, many times Canadian fiddle Champion, and Craig McGregor, well known traditional and jazz guitarist, will lead you from the County Down, to the Winds that Shake the Barley, My Lagan Love and The Lass of Aughrim among many other gorgeous pieces.
