Event Description

Coming with hopes and expectations, new immigrants experienced longing and loss for family, friends and the land they left behind - also immense joy and optimism. The concert explores the music of Scotland and Northern Britain, brought to Canada by Scottish emigrants.
Elspeth McVeigh sings this beautiful music “ beautifully”. Champion fiddler Mark Sullivan plays with “sensitivity and verve”.This is the prelude to a show at the International Festival, Edinburgh, Scotland in August, and a treat not to be missed.
