Celebrate the festive season with the Vancouver Chamber Choir in the Orpheum Theatre. Christmas is a joyful time and Baroque is a joyful music - the combination is magic. One of JS Bach’s most luminous works is featured - the Magnificat for soloists, choir and orchestra. Monteverdi’s Gloria concertata virtually glistens with the vigorous passagework of the Early Baroque. There is a contrasting Bach set of intimate chorales and choral songs called Weihnachtslieder. Then the concert ends with Handel at his affirming best in Blessed are They that Consider the Poor drawn from the anthem he wrote for his favourite charity, closing with a rousing Hallelujah! The Choir is joined by the Pacifica Singers and our Vancouver Chamber Orchestra for this scintillating evening of music.
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
