Acclaimed Russian pianist, Professor of St. Petersburg Conservatory Pavel Egorov performs on Friday, March 16 at 8 PM at the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra School of Music, 843 Seymour Street.

Schumann: Fantasy Pieces (Fantasiestücke), Op.12 & WoO 26
Chopin: Scherzo No. 1 B minor, Op. 20; Scherzo No. 2 B-flat minor, Op. 31; Four Mazurkas Op. 68
Scriabin: Five poems. Op. 32, Op. 69, Op. 72

Pavel Egorov launched his career by winning the Gold Medal and the Grand Prize at the prestigious International Schumann Competition in Zwickau, Germany in 1974. He is an Honorary Member of the International Schumann Society, Dusseldorf, and was awarded the International Schumann Price in 1988 . He holds the highest artistic title in Russia, "National Artist of Russian Federation". Pavel Egorov has toured in the United States, Canada, China, Taiwan, Japan, Republic of Korea, and most of Europe. During his career he has performed in more than 3000 solo, symphonic and chamber concerts and recorded over 40 Cds.
