Lions In The Street are releasing their new EP "The Mixtape", recorded at Mushroom Studios with sonic-wizard Shawn Cole (You Say Party We Say Die, Bend Sinister). Taking pre-punk rock and roll as their starting point, this is the kind of weary-yet-hopeful music that only a band that has endured real hardships could make.
LIONS IN THE STREET create rock'n'roll that is fierce and genuine, invoking vintage Stones swagger and raunchy boogie rock 'n' roll with lean attack and ass-kicking rhythmic sense. Formerly known as The Years, the Lions have shared stages with the likes of Jet, Kings of Leon, Ambulance Ltd, The Dirtbombs and The Zutons and "explode with a Stones/Small Faces onslaught that drips with jubilant passion, as well as very loud guitars played with giddy abandon" (Guitar Player Magazine). LAND - Inspired by the possibilities born out of jam-based rock music, this 2 man blues-driven band focuses on tightly crafted music that's strongly rooted in spontaneity. Thrust forward on a wave of fuzz-laden grooves and reverb echoes, the vocals reveal stories of love, darkness, and hope, setting the tone for the band's inspired musical soundscape. MINTO CHIPMAN is a five piece psyche folk rock band. They started out as a country tinged band called The Smokes, but as members and influences came and went, they slowly became the band they are today.
