Event Description
The Fine Arts Student Association presents “Desperately Mashed,” a festival on Friday, February 9th noon until 10pm in the Visual Arts building at the University of Victoria.
For the first time, the Visual Arts, Theatre, Music, and Creative Writing Student Unions are collaborating to present “Desperately Mashed,”. Drawing its name from an 18th century expression for being “very much in love,” Desperately Mashed will double as an alternative Valentine's Day extravaganza.
Faculty, staff and the general public are invited to UVic's Visual Arts Building to experience a series of attractions spanning the Visual and Performing Arts. Entrance fee at the door is $2 for students of any school, and $5 for general admission.
The event will include an art exhibition, silent auction, readings by Writing students, and live performances of drama and music. Food and beverages will be sold throughout the day, and there will be a cash bar in the evening. So come for a while or come for the day, unlimited reentry will be allowed with a hand stamp. Not only is a chance to socialize and show off UVic’s pool of talent, this festival is an important fundraiser for the four departments involved.
